Course Contract
Last updated: 30 July 2026.
General contractual terms for online group German courses (live tuition via Zoom) offered by Lerne-Deutsch-Online.com through lerne-deutsch-online.com. By ticking the checkbox at checkout and completing your order, you enter into a binding contract for participation in the selected course.
§ 1 Subject matter and course structure
The subject of this contract is participation in an online group German course (levels A1–C1) as described on the course page and in the order confirmation.
Teaching is delivered as live distance learning via the Zoom video platform.
Group size is normally planned for a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 28 participants, unless stated otherwise on the course page.
§ 2 Scope of services, schedule and materials
The scope of services (period, schedule, level) follows from the selected product/course and the order confirmation.
Textbooks and additional materials are not included in the course fee unless expressly stated otherwise; participants purchase them separately.
Zoom classroom access and instructions are sent after successful payment to the email address on the order.
§ 3 Minimum participants and school cancellation
A course runs if the minimum number of participants is reached (normally 5).
If the minimum is not reached, the school may withdraw from the contract no later than 14 days before the course start and refund payments received.
§ 4 Fees and advance payment
Fees are payable in a single instalment for the entire booked period via the site payment provider (e.g. PayPal).
Payment should be received at least 14 days before the first lesson. For later bookings, payment is due immediately.
If payment is not received on time, access to the virtual classroom (Zoom link) may be blocked temporarily.
§ 5 Technical requirements and disruptions
Participants must provide a stable internet connection, a working camera and microphone/headset, and a current Zoom client or compatible browser.
Disruptions outside the school’s control (e.g. third-party outages) do not automatically entitle you to a pro-rata refund, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
§ 6 Absences and cancellations by the participant
Missing a lesson does not entitle you to a make-up lesson or a partial refund, unless otherwise agreed or required by law.
The statutory right of withdrawal is governed by the “Right of withdrawal” page and the confirmation checkbox at checkout.
§ 7 Lesson cancellation by the school
If the school cancels a lesson (e.g. teacher illness), a make-up date or other appropriate compensation will be offered.
§ 8 Copyright, recording ban and conduct
Audio/video recording of Zoom lessons and further distribution are prohibited for data protection and copyright reasons.
Digital materials provided by the school are copyright-protected and may be used for personal study only.
Respectful conduct toward the teacher and other participants is required.
§ 9 Term and termination
The contract is for a fixed term and ends automatically when the booked course period ends, without notice.
Early termination and partial refunds are generally excluded, except where mandatory law or a specific agreement provides otherwise.
§ 10 Final provisions
Amendments require text form (e.g. email), unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
If any provision is invalid, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
German law applies, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules at the consumer’s place of residence.
